How to clean and maintain your washing machine?

Nowadays, washing machines are a necessity in every household because they are essentially made to wash clothes quickly and effectively with water, detergent, and mechanical action.

Modern washing machines may also have some advanced features such as temperature and water level control,  automatic detergent dispensers and multiple wash cycles. It became a common appliance in most households and they have enormously simplified the task of doing laundry.

If the washing machine is not properly maintained, several problems can arise, including:

  • Detergent residue, dirt, and grime can accumulate inside the washing machine's drum and other parts over time. The machine's performance may suffer as a result of this buildup, which may also cause unpleasant odors.
  • Moisture can accumulate inside the drum and other parts of the washing machine if it is not cleaned frequently, creating the ideal environment for the growth of mold and mildew. In addition to causing unpleasant odors, this may pose a health risk.
  • The washing machine may lose its ability to clean clothes if it is not kept in good working order. This may result in increased water and energy consumption, prolonged washing times, and even clothing damage.

Regular maintenance can help to avoid these problems and extend the lifespan of your washing machine.
